You don’t have to go out on the float tours offered through the Restaurant Rincón Corobicí to see white-faced monkeys. They often show up at the riverside restaurant to play and eat in the trees before breakfast.
The placid two-hour float tours, conducted by Rio Tropicales and marketed mainly to birdwatchers, cost $50 for adults and $35 for children under the age of 12.
Safaris Corobicí has similar tours at $37 per person for two hours, $45 for three hours and $60 for a half-day tour. Children from 4 to 14 years old pay half price.
Rio Tropicales also offers white-water rafting trips on the Rio Tenorio, with class III and IV rapids. The cost is $95 including transportation from the Restaurant Rincón Corobicí.
The restaurant is a scenic spot to have a meal, and it has a rather decent little souvenir shop. It’s about 2.5 miles north of Cañas on the Interamerican Highway, right on the river. Safari Corobicí is nearby. The trip will take about 30 minutes from Bijagua.
